How to Measure Your Foot
- 1Prepare: Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor against a wall. Wear the socks you would normally wear with the shoes.
- 2Stand: Stand on the paper with your heel against the wall. Distribute your weight evenly on both feet.
- 3Mark: Have someone mark the longest point of your foot (usually the big toe or second toe) on the paper.
- 4Measure: Measure the distance from the wall to the mark in centimeters. This is your foot length.
- 5Find your size: Use the CM column in the chart above to find your corresponding shoe size. Measure both feet — use the larger measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are shoe sizes the same across all brands?
No. Shoe sizes can vary significantly between brands and even between different models from the same brand. The charts above represent standard sizing, but it is always best to try shoes on or check the specific brand's size guide. When in doubt, go up half a size.
What is the difference between US and UK shoe sizes?
US men's sizes are typically 0.5 to 1 size larger than UK sizes (e.g., US 10 ≈ UK 9.5). US women's sizes are about 2 sizes larger than UK sizes (e.g., US 8 ≈ UK 6). EU sizes use a completely different numbering system based on the Paris Point (2/3 cm).
How do I convert between men's and women's shoe sizes?
In US sizing, women's sizes are generally 1.5 sizes larger than men's for the same foot length. For example, a men's US 8 is approximately equal to a women's US 9.5. In UK sizing, the difference is about 1 size.
What does CM (JP) mean for shoe sizes?
CM refers to the Japanese shoe sizing system (called Mondopoint), which measures the foot length in centimeters. It is the most precise system because it directly corresponds to your actual foot measurement. A foot measuring 27 cm would wear a size 27 in the Japanese system.
